After starring together across all eight seasons of HBO’s hugely popular fantasy series Game of Thrones, Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are set to reunite on The Dreadful, a Gothic horror film launching sales at EFM through UTA Independent Film Group and Film Bridge International.
Written and to be directed by Natasha Kermani (Lucky, V/H/S/85), the film set against the backdrop of the War of the Roses follows Anne (Turner) and her mother-in-law Morwen, who live a solitary, harsh life on the outskirts of society. But when a man (Harington) from their past returns, he will set off a sequence of events that become a turning point for Anne.
In addition to Turner, producers on the film include Redwire Pictures/Tunnel’s Luke Daniels, as well as Storyboard Media’s Patrick Muldoon and Patrick Hibler, and Lucas Jarach. Greg Lauritano also produces under his Black Magic banner. Film Bridge International is repping foreign sales, with UTA Independent Film Group handling domestic.
On HBO’s Game of Thrones, based on a series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin, Turner played Sansa Stark, with Harington as the Night’s Watch’s Jon Snow. Both scored Emmy nominations for their work, among other accolades.
More recently, Turner has been seen in Netflix’s Do Revenge and Max’s crime drama The Staircase, among other projects.
Harington, meanwhile, has starred in Apple’s Extrapolations and Marvel’s Eternals.
A segment director on anthology film V/H/S/85, which hit Shudder last fall, Kermani also previously helmed SXSW horror drama Lucky, sci-fi drama Imitation Girl and the thriller Shattered.
Kermani is represented by UTA, Persistent and attorney Marios Rush; Turner by CAA and Independent Talent Group; and Harington by UTA, United Agents and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. [Source]
