Game of Thrones star Kit Harington and The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar are among the cast of the second season of Netflix’s police interrogation drama Criminal.
The second season of the English-language version of the drama – there are French, Spanish and German versions – also includes Catastrophe co-creator and star Sharon Horgan and Sophie Okonedo, who stars in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest prequel Ratched.
The drama takes place exclusively within the confines of a police interview suite. It is a stripped down, cat-and-mouse drama that will focus on the intense mental conflict between the police officer and the suspect in question.
Season two returns to the streamer on September 16.
It marks Harington’s first TV role since his HBO fantasy epic ended last year and similarly Nayyar’s first TV role since the long-running CBS sitcom finished.
The first season featured guest stars including David Tennant and Hayley Atwell alongside series regulars Nicholas Pinnock, Katherine Kelly, Lee Ingleby, Mark Stanley, Rochenda Sandall and Shubham Saraf.
The series comes from Killing Eve writer George Kay and Wrong Mans producer and She’s Out Of My League director Jim Field Smith. Co-creators Kay and Field Smith, whose Idiotlamp Productions will produce, are showrunners and writers of the UK version. [Source]
If you’re a French production house looking to make the official announcement of your UK launch, who better to turn to than a couple of locals? Thanks to the incredible support of The Crown’s Tobias Menzies and Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington, Paris-based production house BIRTH found some of the best to break the ice. The “Fabulous New Roster of the Bloody French” introduces BIRTH UK, with a launch that marks an important step in the production company’s international expansion, as it also opens an office in Algiers, 2Horloges.
Self-deprecating and slightly absurd, “The Fabulous New Roster of the Bloody French” was created by executive producer Maëva Demurger and director Leo Bill, and came about thanks to a friendship they developed with Tobias working on another project. When the time came to announce the launch of BIRTH UK (which opened one year ago), the pair wanted to get just the right tone with a distinctly British feel. And how much more British can you get than one of the stars of a series featuring the royal family? The story grew from there.
“As Leo and I developed the idea, we then thought it would be good to have somebody else for Tobias to play off. A crazy notion came to mind: what if we could get Kit Harington? Amazingly, we managed to get in touch, told him about the concept, and to our delight, he loved the idea and was more than happy to come on board,” explained Maëva. [Source]

Neil Gaiman’s Chivalry is being adapted for BBC Radio 4.
Glenda Jackson and heartthrob Kit Harington will be on the airwaves on Christmas Day.
Neil Gaiman’s Chivalry, a short story, is being adapted for BBC Radio 4.
Double Oscar-winner Jackson, 83, and ex-Game Of Thrones star Harington, 32, will voice roles in the drama.
Former MP Jackson voices Mrs Whitaker, who discovers the Holy Grail in a charity shop.
She becomes the focal point of “handsome young man” Sir Galaad’s (Harington’s) “most important quest” – and ropes him into doing some chores along the way.
Jackson also voices the narrator.
Jackson recently announced her return to the screen for the first time in more than 25 years.
The double Oscar winner will star in a BBC One adaptation of the bestselling novel Elizabeth Is Missing, which combines a “gripping mystery” with a “tender yet unflinching exploration of one woman’s struggle with dementia.”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe may be losing Spider-Man, but they are gaining the (former) King of the North. Fresh off the final season of Game of Thrones, Jon Snow actor Kit Harington is set to star in The Eternals, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige announced at Disney’s D23 Conference.
Marvel is entering “Phase Four” of its cinematic universe, after Avengers: Endgame wrapped up the storylines of some of the franchise’s most recognizable heroes. New superheroes will have to replace the likes of Iron Man and Captain America as the leaders of Marvel’s super-team. Plus, Marvel is reportedly losing the rights to use Spider-Man in future films, which means the studio will be even more eager for recognizable faces to usher fans into their new era of films. Harington fits the bill.
The star-studded Eternals features Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjani, Salma Hayek, Brian Tyree Henry and Harington’s fellow Game of Thrones alum Richard Madden as an immortal race called the Eternals. (Madden played one of Jon Snow’s doomed brothers, Robb Stark.) Harington will play a non-Eternal character according to Feige, which means he could be the film’s villain.
Harington will be well-prepared to join a massive movie franchise. After all, he just spent the last decade as the star of the world’s biggest TV series. [Source]
The list of “Game Of Thrones” talk show appearances continues to grow. Per a new set of listings, two cast members from the show will visit “Live With Kelly & Ryan.”
Kit Harington will appear on the April 9 edition of the daytime talk show. The episode will also feature a chat with Maria Menounos and a performance by Melissa Etheridge.
Gwendoline Christie will then appear on the April 12 “Live” broadcast. Kate Hudson is also set for that day’s broadcast.
By the time their episodes air, both will have already made other talk show appearances in support of the new “GoT” season. Harington appeared on a recent edition of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” while Christie is set for the April 3 “Good Morning America.” [Source]
Kit Harington, Elle Fanning and Khalid each have major projects coming in April. To support their projects, the three entertainers will appear on the April 4 edition of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Billed as the episode’s lead guest, Harington will support the April 14 “Game Of Thrones” season premiere. The “Fallon” visit additionally precedes his April 6 “Saturday Night Live” hosting stint.
Kit Harington will host Saturday Night Live for the first time.
The NBC sketch comedy series announced in a tweet Wednesday the 32-year-old British actor will host its April 6 episode.
The new episode will feature a performance from singer Sara Bareilles. Harington is the second Game of Thrones actor to host SNL, following Peter Dinklage’s appearance on the show in 2016.
Harington’s episode airs just over a week before Game of Thrones returns to HBO for its eighth and final season. The actor, who plays Jon Snow, said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week he cried after reading the show’s finale.
“I was very shocked and surprised at certain events unfolding. And then I blubbed my eyes out. I cried,” he said. [Source]

“I’m delighted and proud to be a Patron of Longlands Care Farm. I’ve known Longlands since I was a small child, first when on holiday in Whitbourne and then when I lived near the village from the age of 11. The work of the care farm in supporting young people making the next step in their lives is close to my heart.”
