Kit Harington has no qualms about one day showing his son his raunchier Game of Thrones scenes.

The actor, who shares his 9-month-old baby boy with Thrones costar and wife Rose Leslie, recently chatted with E! News’ Daily Pop about his whether he’ll eventually let his son watch the series — and how he plans on discussing the show with his little one.

Harington, 34, said he’ll most likely tell his son, “Look, I mean, you can just be thankful that it happened because otherwise you wouldn’t be here.”

“So that will be it,” he said, cracking a smile. “I’ll be like, ‘You don’t like watching it? Well, tough luck.”

As for now, Harington said he is staying focused on spending time with his baby boy.

“I’m going through something at the moment which is that I spend weeks prior to coming out here sort of, you know, feeding him, pampering him, looking after him,” the actor said. “And then I go to get on a flight, come here, and now I’m looked after and being pampered. So I’m living the dream right now!”

Leslie, 34, confirmed their pregnancy in September 2020 after she debuted her baby bump for U.K.’s Make Magazine and spoke about how the couple had been spending quality time together in their Tudor manor house in East Anglia amid the pandemic. Kit Harington has opened up about the toll Game of Thrones took on his mental health, revealing he had to take a year off after the HBO epic concluded.

Speaking recently on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, the 34-year-old actor said the “nature” of the violent, intense, emotional series “directly” broke him down in reality.

“I went through some mental health difficulties after Thrones, and during the end of Thrones, to be honest,” Harington told Cagle. “I think it was directly due to the nature of the show and what I had been doing for years.”

Harington said he made the decision to take a break after Game of Thrones to “really concentrate on myself,” adding, “I’m really happy I did that.”

Harington starred as Jon Snow on the series, which turned into a cultural obsession, running for eight seasons.

It was widely reported that in May 2019 — that same month Game of Thrones ended — Harington checked into a mental health and wellness facility to seek help for “some personal issues.”

“Just when I was wanting to come back to work the pandemic hit,” he said of moving onward. The actor recently filmed an episode of Modern Love, the second season of which hits Amazon Prime on Friday, just for the sake of fun, he said.

“You don’t have to live in that intense place all the time,” Harington said. “Why don’t you do something that takes the weight off? Why don’t you do something fun?”

The eight-season run of Game of Thrones featured a world with plenty of violence and debauchery. In the midst of it all, numerous actors bared all on camera for a multitude of different reasons.

But for star Kit Harington, showing off his naked bum during season 3 wasn’t an option. Instead, he used a body double in THAT scene for a very specific reason.

‘Game of Thrones’ was Kit Harington’s first TV acting credit

Before he landed the role of Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, the only credits Harington had on his resume were two theatre roles from London’s Central West End. Harington starred in War Horse in 2008 and 2009, and in Posh in 2010.

Despite his lack of experience, Harington was able to snag a leading role in what would become the biggest TV show on the planet. It made him a star almost overnight, but he told GQ in 2014 that he never saw himself as a leading man.

“I didn’t really think I’d be a leading man in any respect whatsoever,” Harington confessed. “At drama school in my third year I was resigned to the fate of being Young Male Rape Victim No. 2. That was the kind of category I was put in. I’ve got a very baby face underneath all of this fuzz.”

His baby face, though, was a big factor in Harington getting the role. At the beginning of George R. R. Martin’s books, Jon Snow is around the age of 14. This is how the showrunners asked him to play the character in the pilot.

J M Barrie’s legacy to the nation’s sick children is to receive a fresh boost from the latest edition of the Angus author’s most famous fairytale.

Part of the profits from sales of the audio book will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, continuing Barrie’s legacy to the hospital he gifted the rights to Peter Pan to in 1929.

Barrie aficionado Lumley has been joined by an all-star stage and screen cast including Kit Harington, Alex Jennings, Alex Kingston, Helen McCrory, Jennifer Saunders, Juliet Stevenson, David Walliams and Zoe Wanamaker for the project.

The story has been abridged by Martin Jarvis, who also reads, and introduced by renowned children’s author, Sir Michael Morpurgo.

Ms Lumley said: “He haunts us all: Peter Pan has never grown up and has never let us forget him.

“His shadow found in a drawer by Tinker Bell trails round the corners of our eyes.

“As I now know, like a grown-up Wendy, that most of our lives are lived in our minds, this strange, thrilling, charming and unsettling work beckons children and adults alike into the world of make-believe, without which our lives would be intolerable.

“A host of stars has gathered to read the story aloud; their gift to the charity is a gift to us all.”

Originally written as a play, the much-loved story of the boy who could fly and his pirate adventures in Neverland with the Lost Boys and the Darling children, was first published as a novel, Peter & Wendy, in 1911.

Thanks to the incredible support of The Crown’s Tobias Menzies and Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington, Paris-based production house BIRTH found some of the best to break the ice. The “Fabulous New Roster of the Bloody French” introduces BIRTH UK, with a launch that marks an important step in the production company’s international expansion, as it also opens an office in Algiers, 2Horloges.

THE FILM

Self-deprecating and slightly absurd, “The Fabulous New Roster of the Bloody French” was created by executive producer Maëva Demurger and director Leo Bill, and came about thanks to a friendship they developed with Tobias working on another project. When the time came to announce the launch of BIRTH UK (which opened one year ago), the pair wanted to get just the right tone with a distinctly British feel. And how much more British can you get than one of the stars of a series featuring the royal family? The story grew from there.

“As Leo and I developed the idea, we then thought it would be good to have somebody else for Tobias to play off. A crazy notion came to mind: what if we could get Kit Harington? Amazingly, we managed to get in touch, told him about the concept, and to our delight, he loved the idea and was more than happy to come on board,” explained Maëva. [Source]
